Denise is a permaculture practitioner, a breast cancer survivor, qigong teacher and an aspiring natural builder. She works on a farm, and leases a small property next door where she is practicing permaculture. Currently tending a flock of chickens, and managing a squirrel sanctuary .. ehm I mean small orchard. She intends for this to be an education and demonstration site, offering educational workshops with an emphasis on sustainable living. The Construction Basics workshop is the first in the Well House series, it will be followed with an Introduction to Natural Building and Earthen Floors. She started Open Heart-Mind Studio as a practice in sustainable community development, offering tools for personal well-being and sustainable practices, focusing on care of people and care of earth. Denise’s journey has been focused on conservation/sustainability, seeking a sustainable life, one in which she can live in alignment with her values, walking gently on the earth, make a positive contribution and be able to sustain herself through good work.
